WHATASOFTWARE / BY SUKET DEDHIA

WhatASoftware is AI education by Suket Dedhia.

The filmmaker, editor and photographer behind WhatASoftware — and why his AI teaching starts with craft, not hype.

THE PRACTICE / CRAFT FIRST, AI SECOND

Suket didn’t arrive at AI looking for a shortcut. He arrived as a filmmaker, editor and photographer who wanted the tool to answer to his eye—not the other way around. More than a decade behind the camera and the timeline taught him that craft is judgment: knowing what a frame needs, what a cut has earned, what the light is actually saying. AI doesn’t replace that judgment. It rewards it.

Three years directing AI, not prompting it

For the past three years he’s put that judgment to work inside AI video and photography—stress-testing new models the week they land, building workflows that hold up past the demo, and directing generations the way he’d direct a shoot: with intention, not prompts thrown at a wall. WhatASoftware is where that practice gets taught, plainly, minus the hype cycle.

Real skill still wins. AI just changes the tools you win with.

THE PRACTICE / HOW SUKET WORKS WITH CREATORS AND TEAMS

How I work with creators and teams

Suket works directly with creators, photographers and teams who want an AI practice that survives contact with real footage, real deadlines and real clients. Every session moves through the same discipline he uses on his own work: build the visual brief first, direct the generation with intention, then finish with the camera, editing and design judgment a decade behind the timeline actually earned.
